I look forward to hearing about your experience at the convention. Here in Spain (where I am traveling at the moment), the newspapers dutifully report on the daily events of the U.S. democratic race. They always refer to Hillary Clinton as the "ex primera dama" (the ex first lady), to remind people who she is. However, the people here don't appear to be very interested in the details, and they don't fully understand how the U.S. system works. I've been asked when we Americans are going to make a final decision. Most Europeans will be glad to see Bush leave the White House, and they want the democrats to take over. My impression is that they favor Obama, although I think that they will be pleased with either Obama or Clinton as president.
